Reviews
This Tibetan food was like having flavor bombs go off in my mouth (example: eggplant and mushrooms). Loved loved LOVED the momos (dumplings both steamed and fried). The only issue (more like a personal preference) I had with the food was with the rice, but I'm used to a specific type of rice and method of cooking. The rice was almost like a pilaf.
The service was attentive and kind, and our water was filled frequently, and the food came quickly. The atmosphere is okay - nothing fancy, but fine.
Overall, we loved it here and will be coming back for sure.
Have been recommended to try this place for a while now and finally got to try it! Loved the chicken fried rice and their momos, all of it was served hot. We also got the singapore tofu noodles but the green pepper taste was slightly overwhelming, still good but will be trying something else next time. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the waitress was very nice. Not crowded either, we were seated immediately when we got there and it was 6 on a friday. Great atmosphere with natural light and gives a cozy restaurant feeling. Would definitely recommend to anyone near the avenues that wants authentically made meals!
I hate to give this place 4 stars because the food was sooooo good, however it took an hour to get appetizers out, and then another 10 minutes for the main course. It was Saturday evening at dinner time and they were clearly busy and understaffed but an hour is a really long wait time and no one came over to update us or apologize.
The food was so good that I'll come back on a less busy day and see if they were just having an off night.
Food tasted good and proportions were generous, but we were very disappointed that the vegetarian plate was served in a Styrofoam takeout box (for dine-in!) and hot tea in a plastic teapot. Plastics leach into hot food and can disrupt hormones, not to mention this also cheapens the presentation. Brown rice is not available which is disappointing for a Tibetan restaurant.
I had beef phingsha and steamed veggie momos. It was so delicious! There were sauces on the side too. My favorite was the sweet tangy one, and it went well with the momos. Service was great. The hostess was very kind. Highly recommended.
Some of the most friendly wait staff Iβve had in Salt Lake. Extremely tasty food for a decent price. Thereβs no bells and whistles, just great food. I will for sure be going back often!
We ordered:
-spicy potatoes
-veggie momo (half fried, half steamed)
-chicken curry
-hot chai
Humble spot in the Avenues with great staff and great food! We got the chow mein, chicken curry, and mango lassi (recommend to us), and they were amazing! Loved the vibe of this place, itβs very homey. Would definitely recommend
